Nope, I believe the blocks were randomly installed, perhaps someone has statistics to prove otherwise; Many people with the #53 have gotten by just fine, others have lost an engine to it. If you're that worried about it, can you contact the seller and ask him to look on the block and get you the casting number?

Note: I'm running the #53 block (bought it used, and it had evidence of a chip and the truck had been used for towing before); I just put on an EZ....if the block hasn't cracked by now (109K), I think / hope I'm out of the woods....

Good luck

Ok , now.

There is three pictures. The dealer said it's rare model? Those arent usually so well equipped and such, huh?

By the way, that guy in United States is finnish, and he just buy and pick that truck and put it on the ship. So its allready bought and its mine, and he has took those pics.

So that truck is coming here in Finland, it's maybe a first 98,5-02 dually here...

Comments please!

The ISB series engine blocks are cast in two places that I know of (there may be others). Tupy, a Brazilian company makes blocks as well as a company in Mexico. Tupy used numbers cast into the block to denote the series that it was. The mexican company does not so this.

Tupy and the mexican company only manufacture engine blocks and are then shipped to the plants where cars are made. Dodge has a plant in Mexico and St. Louis where Rams are made.

Here is some more info on the 53 block:

Ok thanks. This is just the info what I was looking for. So they just put those randomly and there was eight times more Brazilian tupy blocks than Mexicans...

It's like a russian roulette... You have to win or its bad.
