5 speed acting up...

Alright, so here's the low-down...I had driven my truck 120 miles bac kto school yesterday problem free...as soon as I got to a stop light in town and shifted to neutral at a dead stop it wouldn't go back into gear...and i tried throwing it into gear HARD...so i shut off the motor, slipped it into gear and started it and took off...then it hung up in 2nd when i tried to shift to 3rd...with some coaxing (slamming it into neutral) it came out of gear...

...then it worked fine and hasn't acted up since...my best guess is a synchronizer or somethign floating around the tranny that shouldn't be...clutch linkage, master cylinder and clutch operate fine...

It could be your hydraulic system. (Slave Cylinder)

When you have that problem don't force or slam anything, you will only make things worse $$$$$. Just shut it off and put in gear and restart. Sounds like hydraulics! or the clutch hub!

yea...if i could see in the freaking housing i would check the throwout bearing...i really dont want to pull the tranny just to check the clutch unless it acts up again...i'd be doing it in a parkign lot here at college...
