I think i'll service the trans before I decide it needs a rebuild.
Anyone know what kind of fluid I should use?
How much would I need to drop the pan and blow out the lines?

 

ATF+4 is what you should use. I put Valvoline ATF+4 in mine, on sale for a $1 cheaper a quart at NAPA than any where else.

 

If you drain the TQ converter and all lines you will need around 16 qts.
I prefer the ATF+4, what my book calls for. Many say they have good luck with ATF+3??

I would change the filter also if it's been over 30,000 miles.

ATF+4 only....ATF+3 has been known to cause shudder in some trucks that should use ATF+4. Dodge put out a TSB on it.
