24v rough idle
Have a 2002 Ram 2500 that is getting a rough idle. 100k but has sat a lot before I got it. Was getting worse, and I put in new injectors. Got the special wrench to torque the high pressure lines, and it seemed better for a while, but is turning into a miss at idle only. Runs great once you give it a little throttle. Worse in neutral, better in D. I did not replace the connector tubes at the time, just replaced the o-rings. I am suspicious that the connector tubes may be leaking, but also wonder about the VP44 pump. It does not seem to be a problem that is common and not fixed with new injectors. I want to measure the return flow from the line at the back of the head, but I don't know what to expect. Anyone have a idea how much is normal or excessive?? Is there a test that can be done or do I just have the new injectors tested and assume it is the pump if the injectors test OK? I can probably crack the lines at idle and determine which cylinder is missing. Thanks for your time!!!!
