24V NON-Dodge Aplications?

Is the 24V cummins used in NON Dodge Applications?

I read that the VP44 electronics is Dodge Design, T/F?

If true, and the 24V engine is used in other applications
(non dodge ), What kind of Inj Pump/Electronics is used?

Yes, the 24 Valve is used in many other applications...

No, the VP-44 and it's electronics are not a Dodge design, it is a Bosch design. The original electronics package seemed to be failure prone and one company essentially demanded a fix hence the term "fed-ex" electronics.

The Poland Spring water delivery trucks here in Maine all run i believe Freightliners with 24v cummins in them. I actually applied for a job there about 6 years ago and was suprised to see the 24v being used in a medium duty truck, i had no idea at the time, i thought they were only in Dodges

Dodge trucks are probably the lightest application 5.9's are put in. Far from being the only or main application, we're a long way down from the top in terms of severity of load.

We have a large ford bucket truck at work that has a 99 24valver or so I'm assuming. I've never taken a indept look besides being from afar but that's what I've been told. That and a lift pump was replaced very early.

Some Kawasaki Payloaders in the 90 were using 12v 5.9's, I'm pretty sure I've seen a newer one with a 24v in it. I personally have operated one with a 12v in it.

Thats probably because it's actually a Cummins. JD uses a couple of different Cummines engines.

I've seen multiple 24v engines that came out of medium duty trucks at big wrecking yards. They basically look the same except for a different valve cover, different serpentine setup, exhaust manifold holds the turbo lower, and it seems I noticed the fuel filter bowl is a little further forward. Vp44 is the same unit.

I must have a tractor with a 24 valve. I just have to have one. Big 5" stainless stack, comp, scottyII... She'd be a beast. Everyone would think my tractor was sexy.
