24v to a 12v in a "99"

I have a chance to get a complete 12v motor with P7100 pump and anything else I need. How big of a project would it be to put this in my 99?

1. Would the motor mounts be the same?
2. Would it bolt up to my auto?
3. Can I use my FASS?
4. Would there be any computer related issues?

Not sure if this deal will go though but want to lookin to this things before I commit.

Thanks

Why do you want to swap?? Is there anything wrong with your 24V?

It mostly started with the research I have been doing on using WVO ( waste veggy oil ). Was talking about it with a friend.(he has a 96 cummins) I was telling him about the possible problems with the Vp44 and heated WVO. I started to tell him his truck was a prime candidate and he told me that he knows where I could get the 12v and anything I need to do the swap real cheap. So I started thinking ?? 220,000 miles on odometer, VP44 issues in general, use WVO and not having to pay $3.30 a gal??

Anyway good reason or not if it is not a huge project and I can get the 12v for what I want. I think it would be worth it.

Swapping the engines might be less work mechanically, but there will be a lot of electrical issues (unless it happens to be a 98, then it might make it simpler). P-pump swap, you have to go into the engine a ways, but electrically, its a breeze. Only thing that your really need to do with wiring is hooking up the shutoff solenoid, if you decide you want one. You could just use a pull cable instead. How much for the 12v? You'll need injector lines, everything else you should be able to rob from the 12v.

I have thought of the p-pump conversion. I see that you have done it. I read many pages on the conversion but havn't found a how-to or a parts list. I saw a link that took me to a kit that was $1,800. If the deal goes through I'll get the whole engine for less than that. I would like to do just the pump but need to SEE what I am getting into.

If I knew I could run WVO with the VP44 I wouldn't be thinking of doing this but a couple of the companys that sell the kits highly recommened not doing it.

If you quote my post, and copy the list into notepad, the formatting should work out a lot better than it looks here. This is all the parts that came with the Schied's kit. I still had to deal with low pressure fuel lines, oil fittings into the pump (although there is another way around that that I learned here afterwards), shut off solenoid, return line, overflow valve, and I'm sure theres other things. You will also want a timing set, although its not required. You will need a way to find TDC accurately on your engine. Any questions, just ask.

I assume that you bought there kit to do the conversion? If I have to pay that kind of money for the kit. I would think I would be better off just swapping the whole engine.

thanks for that parts list.

Yep, its not cheap. Getting the 12v and stealing parts would be the cheaper way, or like you're saying, swap in the 12v and sell the 24v. But theres lots of 12v's, not many p-pumped 24v.
