I recently twisted the output shaft off of the 241 DLD in my truck and am trying to find out some info on where to find a 241 DHD as well as how much I am going to have to cut my driveshaft down to make it fit. What is the difference in the 23 spline shaft and the 29 spline shaft? I know there is a difference in auto and manual, but there are the 2 choices for the manual, the 23 and 29. Is there a output shaft size difference in the 23 and 29 or is it stricly number of teeth? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Getblown5.9 has a thread here somewhere where he just put a NP271 in his truck out of a 3rd gen. The difference in size of the output shafts is impressive. Maybe thats another option you would like to look into.

 

i have a dhd241 reman by truckcraft still in the crate,that was for a 01 5 speed that i totaled ,what inforamtion do you need to know if it is the right one,

 

29 is Diesel, 23 gasser
