Ok guys heres a question. I have a 99 24 valve cummins. I like it alot so I never looked into the Common Rail engines. The other day a friend of mine asked me the difference between the two because he is thinking about buying a diesel. I told him other than it being quieter than mine I didn't have much info for him. So can someone tell me the differences and maybe some advantages or disadvantages. Thanks.

 

diff. head, fuel system, turbo no VP44 any less reliable? you could argue but my VP44 2001 truck has never given me a problem.
