I noticed right away the door shaking on start up and shut down. I'm the same way about opening them before shut down.... My drivers door is touching the quad door a the top so I thought I should check the door switch. So far so good, still have to do the hinges.....

Any luck on the 02 KnT?

Haven't got to work on the truck yet. Unfortunately, as important as the cc is to me it's not at the top of my priority list for this trip right now. I'll get back on it Tuesday. Not sure what the clock spring is? And this is a 2002.5 Sport QCLB 4x4

What is an 02.5?

There are 01.5's....means rear disc brakes and less rear cup holder/illuminated ignition, two piece bump strip....

Katoom, call off the 3 honk award...she did it this morning again.

I bought this truck August of '02. Very few left on the lots then as the 3rd gens were moving in. My front driveshaft turns constantly and there are a couple other quirks of the half yr model I can't recall right now, none of them are what I would consider good things.

On the other hand my cruise is working today....I don't like that because I can't think of anything I did to make it work. I'm prematurely putting new tires on the truck today due to the length of this trip but otherwise I'm not touching this truck anytime soon and hope it continues to work!

Glad you got it working..... As you've noticed, the problem with trying to tackle too many possibles at the same time is just that, you never really know what of those did the trick. There's an old saying that you only want to touch one thing at a time when diagnosing vehicles because you'll unintentionally open a can of worms.

As for the '02's, yes there are no half year models for the second gen trucks besides the 1998.5 and 2001.5. Starting in '01.5 D/C started to change a couple key components, one being the CAD front axle which was swapped out for the non-CAD axles. If your driveshaft spins full time then thats the one you have. That axle has a little different caster to it as well which is why so many non-CAD trucks can have front u-joint reliability issues, especially lifted trucks.

The other driveline component changed was the rear drums which were swapped out for rear discs.

Other things they did was rid the underhood insulation, plastic fender liners, cup holders, and a couple other things I cant think of right now.

Now all that said, its also important to understand that how D/C implemented those re-tooling changes was on a assembly line case by case. Meaning, if a particular assembly line had an excess of rear drum axles then you'll see some 01.5's with rear drums. If they ran out of cup rear cup holders then you'll see 01.5's without them. If they had an excess of fender liners then you'll see 02's with them. And so on..... Assembly line re-tooling didnt take place until the utilized what they had.
