1999 wont start
I replaced the faulty lift pump & it started right up, I let it warm up & shut it down. Now It wont start. It seems Ive got descent fuel pressure, i hooked up a pressure gauge & it reads about 8psi on the outlet side of filter(thats when I hear the fuel pump noise). Is there any sensors etc. that I should be checking? Should I get a scanner on it? When it starts the check engine light stays on. Another thing, when I bought the truck, there was a brand new oil pressure sending unit(sensor)in the glove box, could this be why it isnt starting?
thanks

You were right, I bled all the air out & away she went! Now I need a code reader to see why the cel light is on. I read somewhere you can buy one at Wal-mart?

You can have codes read and cleared from some of the auto parts stores.
Some of your lights will go off by themselves after you have started the truck X number of times.

Turn your keyswitch On-Off-On-Off-On then look at your odometer for trouble codes.
Did you put the sealing washers back on like they came off...one on each side of each fitting?
You can get a Free 25 Second Lift Pump Run by turning the keyswitch just enough to "bump" the starter then quickly release the key.

You might check the fuel filter housing to be sure it's full of fuel then loosen the 19mm injector line fittings a coupla turns on #1, #3, #4 & #5 injectors and with the throttle floored, crank the engine over for 10 seconds to try to bleed off air in the system.
If the motor tries to start, turn the keyswitch off, tighten the injector fittings then restart the engine.
Check the loose fittings and tighten the wet ones then do another 10 second crank and check the remaining fittings.
Continue until all the fittings are wet & tightened down.
Retry the 10 second cranks, let the starter rest for a coupla minutes then retry.
