fuel canister leaks from heater wires from out of the top of the canister. how does one fix this problem.

 

remove the heater assembly from the top. tap the hole to i/2 pipe and plug it shut. or spend $1100.00 for an up date kit.

 

You can also simply replace the oring that is leaking....

A hydraulic shop should have the correct type of oring.

 

I've repaired leaking canisters three times now, the latest one earlier today. The first time it was just the large o-ring that is supplied with a new filter that was ripped. The second time it was the two small o-rings that are on the back of the drain valve. Today I had a truck that had a lid with stripped threads. Dodge had a new lid is stock, $22 bucks.

 

thanks for the info. i have cleaned top of canister it seems to be coming from the plug where to red and black wire comes from out of the top of the canister.
