How can I tell which type of limited slip (if installed) is in my truck? I havent lifted the truck to see if I even have a limited slip in there in the first place. Is there a simple visual check (Tag, VIN etc.) on the truck somewhere that can let me know? I know it has 3.55 gears if that is any help!

when I first purchased my truck I took the Vin to the local dealer and he ran it and it came back with all the info on the on the truck, fairly complete list.

 

There wil be a tag on the underside of the hood, or possibly in the glove box that tells you colour codes, axle ratio, model and if its limited slip, and some other info as well.

 

yeah mine was in the glove box but taking the vin to the dealer parts department and asking if they could run it for you will get you more info.

 

There was no tag in the glove box but under the hood I found a sticker that listed 3.55 Dana 80 (Hyd) was all that was on the tag that dealt with the rear axle ratio.

I am going to guess that I do not have limited slip since there is nothing on the tag that states that I do.

What are my options as far as putting one in and I want to keep the 3.55 ratio!
