1 3/8" diameter input shaft

when you install a dd clutch that has a 1 3/8 input shaft into a 5 speed truck..........can you buy one from dodge or your local tranny shop.
can you just order a stock input shaft for a 2001.5 6 speed.
what all would you need to order i.e bearings seals ect...
and
is there something special about the shaft kits that everyone sells to convert or are they just sending factory stuff.

i would like to know the same thing. seems that they would have to be pretty close between a 6spd stock one and 5spd upgrade. but idk?

eep or haisley machine is the best place to get the big input upgrade. made in the usa and heat treated. southbends inst know of one that had the drive teeth for the counter shaft raked off it now it makes a handy and exspensive alignment tool. plus comes with a you break it they buy it back guarentee. i bought mine 3 years ago from eep it was $836.

This is incorrect information. We get our shafts from Blumenthal's out of Oklahoma and they are the only authorized rebuilder for Chrysler with the NV 5600 transmissions. Raking of the helical gear of the input shaft where it rides on the sun gear has nothing to do with the quality of the input shaft. If we threw an extra $350 on our 1 3/8" shaft kits I suppose it would give us room to give away a few. But, your buddy did not break the shaft.

i believe in todays world you always get what you pay for. the better shaft is made in the USA right in your home state. if i can ask this question- where is yours sourced from? from what i understand it isnt made in the USA. just my
