02 dodge 2500 47re won’t go into over drive
Starting last week my 02 dodge 2500 would not go into over drive. Going around 45 it would hop in od and pop right back out but if I let out of the throttle completely it would go into od until I touched the throttle the it would go back into 3rd. I have replaced the od solenoid and the trans filter, fluid is bright red and no metal in pan. Also cleaned the output speed sensor. Took it to a shop to get a pressure test done and they told me everything checked out good but put a valve body in without informing me but this didn’t fix the problem either. Can’t find too many people who have had the same problem as me and need my truck for work.

Lots of people having this problem . I would clean all grounds , clean battery posts and terminals . Mine turned out to be 1 battery was 1 or 1.5 volts less than the other . I changed both batteries out and solved the problem .

You have a "command problem" not a "subordinate problem" - your transmission works as commanded, but the brain of the operations (the pcm) seems confused.
My first check would be for AC in the system- set your cheap digital volt meter to AC, measure on the battery while running. It should be less than 10 mV, the less the better.
If it's more, remove the 140A fuse for the alternator in the PDC and go for a short test drive. (only if your batteries are full)
If the problem is fixed- Alternator rebuild time- if not- tricky search for other causes...

Took out the alternator fuse and truck is still not going into OD. Replaced the trans relay with another one and it worked for about 5 miles and then it stopped going into od again. Can’t get either relay to click over with dmm and they both read 73 ohms across the coil

OK, that info would have been useful before!
The trans shifts into OD and into lockup are controlled by the PCM based on throttle position, rpm and vehicle speed.
So if at least one of these values is fluctuating you get the problems you describe.
Do you have any codes stored?

I have codes p1388, p1899, p1389, p0753, p0622, and p1765. I think some of them are because I don’t have a relay for the trans right now and I’m pretty sure I blew the asd relay trying it in the trans position. I also played with I rpm in park and it reads idle fine but if I rev it any the rpms on the edge jump everywhere but the dash in the truck is reading normal

OK, your codes look normal for playing around with the relays with the ignition on.
It would be interesting to see if the p0753 comes again after you got your relays sorted.
I have no idea about the rpm jumping on the edge display, but I would be very weary about this since the rpm are a major factor for your injection.
So maybe try it again with the edge completely removed?
