My friend just bought a "new" truck.

02 3500 HO 6-spd 4x4

He was working on his flatbed last night and I jumped in a did the ignition code trick, and gave him some potentioal bad news.

P1693 --- Companion Code
P0216 --- Injection Pump Timing Failure
P0234 -- Overboost

I told him to have it cleared, and drive it, to see if they come back up.

is it typical to see that overboost code, on what should be a stocker? If the wastegate is plugged, will it throw that code, or does boost not get high enough stock to trow one.

Could it have injectors, and they took off the box???

We shall see. But in the meantime, anything we should look for, or have someone look at?

hehe, MY truck never throws these "Codes," whats up with that.

 

0216 means the vp44 it taking a dump, check for a nick in the pumpwire or maybe it had a BC pump cover
