Sounds like it's loosing prime. Could be the fuel canister in the tank. Just a guess.

Could be a number of things could be an injector haveing a bad seal or could be bleading off a the water drain. Pressure the system up after it has be cleaned well, dried and look for a leak some where. Could be back flowing the pump also.

I know this is going to sound weird but i put a post on here and somebody suggested that i should loosen my gas cap and now i have had no problems starting. i am waiting to get the new gas cap. apparently the gas cap is creating a vaccum. hope that helps.

cap is not a problem, the tank vent is plugged

I had the same problem. Parked on an incline and tried to crank her and it acted like there was air in line. When I park on a flat surface the only problem I have is after start up she wants to die on me. Dont know what the deal is my solution was to stop parking on steep inclines and hit the accelarator after start up.

The tank has a vent sometimes gets plugged up with mud. If the bottom of tank is sucked up you definately have plugged vent. Also when removing cap after engine is shut down you will hear air rush into tank. Try cleaning the vent and putting hose on it to keep mud from getting in.

Fuel cap has a vent/vacuum valve as well, along with the tank vent.
The Fuel cap vacuum valve is seen as the black rubber flap (spring loaded circle thingy) on the under side of the cap, it can be depressed with a pencil or your key....trust me it can and will stick.

I usually suggest leaving the cap loose when someone complains of hard starts after sitting for a spell, or if it only seems to start when parked nose down hill. if you leave the cap loose and it starts later then there is a vacuum issue somewhere cap or vent, or a leak upstream of the tank that allows the tank vacuum to haul the fuel back to the tank. parking nose down hill makes it hard for the fuel to syphon back to the fuel tank
