My work truck, an 01 automatic 4x4 is shifting weird. when I hit the go pedal from a stop it hangs up in all the gears until it either hits the red line or you let off the throttle. Then when I remove my foot from the throttle it shifts down a gear???

 

Sounds like governor pressure solenoid and sensor to me. Too small pieces in the valve body. Most tranny shops will sell you the parts, no harder than changing the fluid and adjusting the bands. A couple hundred if someone does it for you.
