So this weekend, I am on the highway and I notice that as I accelerate above about 2200 rpm my truck starts hesitating, almost like it has no fuel. I didn't push it and drove home keeping the revs under 2200 rpm the whole way and it seems to run fine, however by the time I got home, the truck under load going up a hill would start to do it down to around 1900 RPM.

I don't have a fuel pressure gauge yet, but I suspect the lift pump, going to see if I can get a fuel pressure gauge tonight and install it, how difficult are they to install.

Good point, didn't think about that, where is the filter located on these puppies, I will check it tonight.

 

Get a fuel pressure gauge on that truck asap. Damage to the injector pump is going to set you back nearly 2K.
