Workin on my first "firstgen"

Hello all, am pretty new to the forum, lot's of great info here. I have a 93 w250 extended cab and it has a driveline vibration between 40 and 50 km/hr regardless of which gear it is in. Just wondering if anyone has any insight into this.

New wheel bearings and brakes all the way around. New rear springs, new front driveshaft, new front u-joints,

Also the steering seems to really want to pull agressively when part way into a corner. The frame was cracked at steering box, repaired that and added frame brace off of a ramcharger. Put on borgeson shaft and tightened adjustment on steering box.

I would think driveshaft, or pinion angle if its a high frequency shake. If its a low frequency, I would start with tires.

Hard to say without knowing the details on your truck, eg lifted or not, stock tires or not...

Well, I just had a pretty bad Vibration, I installed a new rear driveshaft and it took care of the problem.. Your front driveshaft and front u-joints are out of the equation unless your hubs are locked... Not sure, but don't the extended cabs have a two piece rear shaft... If so, maybe check out the mid shift bearing if you have one..

Sounds like steering box might be too tight. There may also be an internal hydraulic issue with the steering gear. Welcome to 1gen. It always takes a while to get thru the probs that previous owners couldn't be botherd to fix but the result is well worth the effort!

I hear that every time I turn around there seems to be something else. I bought the truck for the 5.9 guess it comes with some baggage.

No pics yet

Transmission is a getrag 5spd.

I have only had the truck for 3 months and so far I have replaced whl bearings, and brakes all 4 corners. Shocks, rear springs, frt u-joints and driveshaft, engine mounts, injection pump(industial engine) and injectors, steering shaft and installed ramcharger frame brace, and windshield. Also repaired 3 out of 8 spring hangers.

Still need to replace steering box, possibly rebuild king pins and rebearing NP205 and getrag. IT NEVER ENDS.

It is a brace that bolts on the inside of the frame rail using the steering box mount holes and has a brace that bolts to the crossmember under the rad support.

Here is a link.

Here is a replacment too. Alot of 1stgens frames crack behind the power steering box so it helps reinforce it. http://www.dodgeconnection.com/catal...66/4541374.htm
