wiring up a 2nd gen engine
hey guys its been a while, but i finally got my 95 12v to swap into my 1st gen, and i was looking at the wiring on the 2nd gen 12v and all the plug ends look differen't and i think there are a few more electrical connecters on the engine than on the 1st gens, can i use the wiring harness from my 1st gen on my 95 12v? all comments are welcome, im really stuck on the wiring.

Hook the starter up, the shut down solenoid might be alittle tricky because it doesn't pull up till you crank the engine. There's 2 coils and I'm not sure they both get fed 12 volts or not, one is fed from the key on and the other is from the start circuit.
Alternator hookup is probably slightly different. Are you going to use the intake heaters? Do you want them to work automatically or are you going to manually control them?
You can probably pull some of the sensors(all 2 or 3 of them) out of you 1st gen engine and put them in the 2nd gen engine so you can use the some of your original wiring harness.

hey thanks for the reply. actually today i removed the wiring harness and found that there were few few sensors on the engine that i wouldn't use like the map air sensor and a few others, the alternator is actually exactlly the same so i can use my old wiring harness for that, the fuel solinoid im going to manually hook up, and it looks like the heater grid for cold start up will also wire up the same, but i noticed the power steering pump looks different, im not sure if i can use it with my brake system, any thoughts?
The vacuum pump is different, your '90 had the diaphragm style right, this new engine should have a vane style one, it should work just as good if not better.
I'm not sure about the power steering pump, you should be able to hook the lines up, if you can't you should be able to use your old one instead.
