I know on mine I lost the intermittent fuction of the wipers, but still had full on. They also stopped wherever you shut them off at. Turned out the intermittent controller was totally unpluged. Acording to the service manual the controller is by the column. Mine is in the center near the ashtray floating around.

Hope this helps you rule out the controller.

From 91 service manual:

Condition: Motor will not run in any switch setting

note: They say turn it on and listen to the motor to see if it's a broken output shaft or possibly disconnected drive link, etc)

1) Check fuse..(You said it was ok)
2) Place wiper switch on low postition

3) There is a 4 wire connector on the wiper motor itself.

L- Terminal closest to wiper motor case
P1
P2
H - farthest

...and a ground strap

4) Connect a volt meter between L and the ground strap. If there is no voltage or very little voltage ( less than 1 volt) present, move negative test lead to neg term of battery.

a) If voltage increases check ground curcuit (motor fastener tighness, etc
b) If there is strill no indication of voltage then there is a possible open curcuit in the wiring harness or wiper switch
c) If no voltage increase (3 volt+) in voltage is observed, the problem is a faulty motor assembly

See if that helps out

You may want to check the wipers themselves I just had mine go out and it was the connection between the motor and the wipper arm. took motor out and found broken plastic piece that was no longer connected to wipers. Easy to check and see, the wipers eill move freely by hand.

am off top the dealer to see if I can find the part.
