I saw Mr. Lanes post on fixing the old window motors.. I just replaced my doors and don't have any motors that are worth fixing..so if I buy new which one is recommended? You have the older style that can be taken apart and repaired and the newer one, I think it came in the 93..it is sealed and smaller..obviously being able to take it apart and service it if need be is better than not being able too..but which of the two is better as far as strength in being able to lift the window and as far as how long it should last?

 

What year doors did you use? The later motors, 91-93 are readily available in the aftermarket, but their longevity is hit an miss. Not sure if the earlier motors are available new or not?

 

Rockauto offers a reman from A1-cardone for the 1990..its the old style.. my doors are off of a 89 i think..i dont really know anything about A1-cardone but if the older style motors are more reliable I'll get those..anyone heard of A1-cardone?

 

Yes, they are a very common parts source in auto parts stores.

 

So what would you choose? Older or newer style?
