Will the Low Pressure Piston Lift pump..
..aggravate weak seals in the IP?
My IP leaks pretty good. It leaves a pretty good spot on the ground after a few minutes of idling. Not sure where it's coming from exactly. It hasn't impacted my fuel mileage too bad as far as I can tell. It's annoying though. The bottom of my engine is wet with fuel. I'm looking at getting a rebuilt IP to get rid of this problem and have more peace of mind.
For all this time I blamed the Denny T fuel pin. I haven't went back to stock yet to test that theory, but it just dawned on me maybe the piston LP is causing it?
What are your thoughts?
P.S. Anybody know the going rate to change out an IP? After swapping out transmissions this summer, I am kind of lazy now, lol.
