Will it fit?

I have been wondering if a HX40 will fit into my 16cm exhaust housing. Would this be practical or advantageous or is it another stupid idea?

It won't fit without some good machine work. It most likely would not be good as you want to wastegate a 40. You'd spin that 40 into orbit. It's best to find a hx40 already with a 4" 16cm wastegated housing. A tough find though.

My 16cm is dumping into the original 3" down pipe. I was looking for an easy way to play with the boost, not knowing what a Hx40 physically looks like. Ig uess it falls into the "Dumb Idea" file.

Boatnik, you could always do a little porting. Cleaning up any rough areas you can get to. Gasket match the exhaust housing to the manifold. Maybe clean up the intake horn. And replace the slinky air intake hose.

Funny you should mention that. I am working some long hours at the moment but come June I am taking a few weeks off. That is in the plans along with a new TC and some other tranns mods. WHen I got the 16cm from Timva I couldn't wait to try it out, so I just bolted it on and drove it.
