Who all is running a Giles VE pump?

Thinking about sending my pump to Giles to get it pimped out. Who all is running one and how's it holding up? Truck will still be a daily driver and the tow rig so it'll be getting miles out on it and not passes down the track.

I believe jimbo486 is running one,
I think I remember seeing it in his signature.

Sorry I'm just now seeing this. Haven't been this deep into the forum in quite a while.

I've got a *****-to-the-wall 12mm in mine with a 3800RPM spring in it. Throttle response is great, not too sensitive. I've had it on for almost 2 years now without any issues. I'm keeping 15-20psi of inlet pressure to it with the AirDog. Giles recommended 20-30psi so I started at 25psi and then dropped to 20psi trying to retard the base timing a little even though it probably didn't make a noticeable difference. A friend of mine in AZ has a "mild" 12mm from him as well. With a Garrett GT3788R and 68lpm DDP's, laid down 445hp.

A mild build will set you back about $1400. I forked over $2000 for the *****-to-the-wall tuned pump. It needed a new driveshaft though and it wasn't itemized on the invoice to see how much it added. I believe Giles said around $1800 for that kind of pump. Keep in mind, this was pricing as of about 2 years ago. I had mine back in about 1 week from sending it to him. He even overnighted it back!

I'm certainly happy with it. Giles is THE man when it comes to building and tuning these VE's. He managed to squeeze 263cc's of fuel out at 2000RPM engine speed (with P-pump injectors; FYI, 275cc's is about 500hp worth of fuel) and got almost 10mm of travel out of the advance piston on my pump. I don't know where the curve starts or what that equates to in degrees, but I don't think I'll ever turn the RPMs that would need to see that amount of timing. I've been meaning to call him and ask him about the timing curve, where it starts, etc. I need to move the curve a little bit on mine. She rattles a little too much, too early. He mentioned shimming the advance piston, of course. There are some things he has to keep a trade secret though. Other than that, he'll answer any question you have as long as he's not too busy. Hell of a guy to talk to!
