Mark, I plan to stop by next spring when we make our annual visit to my wife's mom in Baxter Springs, KS. I'll bring my M1A and a few boxes of .308.

When I frequented 1stgen.org there was a group that met every fall for Smoke Over Peru at one guy's farm. Camped out a weekend and had some how-to sessions and some BS sessions too. Neat group of guys and fun the time I went but it was always on my anniversary and for some reason my wife expected me to spend the weekend with her instead of my truck, go figure.

Also used to get together with some Power Wagon buddys from the Power Wagon Advertisor forum but that was years ago.

Would be neat to do that with you guys but you are mostly so spread out across the country. I like the idea of a shout out when traveling and maybe a quick visit then. I'll be in western KY this weekend, maybe just a couple hours from 1stgenfarmboy.

And I agree this is the most respectable forum out there other than the PWA. Only thing that irritates me is posters that need to take English Composition over (or for the first time maybe?) but I guess that is just my generation since I didn't grow up, and try to avoid, texting.

Firefox will correct writing for the user by underlining the words that are spelled incorrectly.

No one can deny the contributions made to this forum and the community as a whole by her over the years, pretty remarkable indeed

We're still missing her here in ways we will never know. I was recently reading a post by WannaDiesel in an ancient thread and she mentioned that when the A/C and Overdrive cut out simultaneously, it is certainly related to the Crankshaft Position Sensor. It made me realize that when I experienced CPS issues, she could have diagnosed the problem in a nanosecond. (Thanks to this forum I diagnosed and repaired the issue but it took me a few weeks.) Not only was Wanna's knowledge of First Gens extensive, she was patient and willing to help anyone run down a problem.

That's what I'm talking about! She never threw out "use the search feature". That group, Bushy, Monte, and Wannadiesel, were very patient and welcoming to newbies

Anybody have any idea where Wanna is now or what she is up to? I agree that she was a huge help and a great asset. I had the pleasure of meeting her at a Ky get-together way back in the day, back before.

Didn't realize SOP had moved. Is it still roughly the same type event? About the same distance for me still I guess. Need to visit 1stgen.org again and catch up.

Yes, she was awesome as the centerpoint of knowledge here on the site, and if you go into her profile, you will find out where she works and where she lives.

Or you could just use the search button

Out of curiosity: Did Wannadiesel leave DTR because of people being ignorant about her transition or did she lose interest etc?

I believe she joind a Catholic religious group that supports trans gender people, and decided to focus on that. Could be wrong, but I recall a post about the venture.

I don't really have an answer....she just faded away without telling us she was leaving. I hope she is doing well and hopefully one day will pop in to say hi
