Whats everyone using for a fuel pressure gauge?
I used antifreeze in mine. The Genos kit came with a big syringe. You need liquid because the isolator does not have enough stroke to compress the air in the tube. It would just read low. I have trouble with mine on cold days. It reads low till the temp comes up in the cab as well as in the engine bay. I need to add more fluid I guess.

I ordered the gauge that comes with the kit from Genos on Saturday. I like your thoughts on the mechanical over the electric and that isolator thing was what made up my mind. I trust a mechanical gauge over an electric one anyway. So, did you use strait antifreeze or a 50/50/ mix?
I used a 50 50 mix. What I did was run the line to the gauge but did no hook it up. I stuck the syringe in the lowest end ( engine bay ) and added fluid until I saw it at the other end. I then hooked up the upper side first before I removed the syringe so it would not come back out. I think I should have put some in the isolator as well.
have a 100psi autometer fuel pressure gauge, and using -4an stainless crimped hose. i run the fuel in the cab, if it will work at brake pressures then 60 psi of fuel pressure wont cause a problem. i have tried using isolators in the past and have had nothing but problems with them leaking and reading incorrectly. my .02

I was thinking.....If I use the 1/8" port on the top of the fuel filter, the regulator goes in-line between the filter and the VE pump, and Im installing a 2nd Gen lift pump; I will only be seeing the hi-pressure and not the regulated pressure going into the VE pump.
So are all you guys using the stock lift pump or if you are using a 2nd gen pump where are you placing your regulator and getting your pressure reading from?

Go between the filter and the IP that way you know how much pressure you have going into the IP also when your filter starts to plug your pressure will start to drop kind of an early warning to let you know you need to change your filter.

Genos sells a banjo bolt that replaces the one where you bleed the filter. It has a threaded hole in it for 1/8 inch pipe. Its like 7 to 10 bucks. Or you could take out the stock banjo bolt and drill it to the correct size then tap it with a tap. I just did that on my 92.
DiPricol mechanical 30 psi for me. I got an electric carter pump and 0.5" feed going to an fs1000 filter under the hood. Mine is t'd into the hose coming out of the filer head going to the ve.
I don't feel I need an isolator and I'm not worried about fuel going into the cab, I've also got a shut off in case there is a leak at some point on one of my trips.
It's a nice tool to have to know when to change your filter. It's mounted into the three gauge pod sitting in the middle of the dash.
