At what point do I need a billet flexplate?

A518 auto with Goerend TC and VB, professionally rebuilt with a 2nd gen stock flexplate. 6x18 EDM injectors, WH1C/BHT3B, maxed out pump, old smokey pin, 3200 spring, water/meth (possible nitrous in the future).

Should I buy a billet flexplate? My TC is still non lockup so there isn't as much stress on the flexplate as with a lockup converter, but I don't know the limits of the 2nd gen. I'd rather invest in a good plate now than blow up my entire tranny because of a busted stock gen 2 plate. What do you guys think?

The billet flexplate won't fit the A518 at all. It's intended for lock-up converters. (I asked ).

Them squirter's squirt.

Glad you like 'em!

Didn't know that the billets wouldn't fit. Guess I need to upgrade to a lockup trans? I need a better job.

It took 700hp to break the stock flexplate in my 2nd gen, at 7000lbs.

Thanks for the info. I don't have near that much power so I won't worry about it.
