i've found a 93 to use as a donor for an intercooler swap into my early 91, the thing is what all do i need to get from the truck? (have to explain it to a buddy because he has the truck but hes half way across the country so i have to get everything i need and he'll ship it) Also i dont know if this will effect anything but the truck has a early 80's Grill on it, altho it doesn't have A/C so that shouldn't get in the way of anything

 

If you can get the turbo for cheap, get it as well. The outlet on the compressor housing on the intercooled trucks is needed for the elbow to connect to the rest of the intercooler plumbing right up to and including the intake elbow on the preheaters. See if the mounts can be salvaged, might save some time in fabricating ones of your own.<br><br>J-eh

 

Well, truck is from a Junkyard, he says that it doesn't look like its been hit in the front end and he can get it for 200$ (been dealing with them for along time) so he told me just to tell him what i want and basically i just pay shipping for it, so should i tell him the intercooler, everything thats hooked to it from the turbo to the intake along with the turbo? is the turbo the same size as the one on my 91? or is it bigger, smaller? i'm not real knowledable on diesels

 

it should have a 18.5cm^2 exhaust housing vs. your 21, it would be a nice upgrade for free. If you have to pay much for that part, you might as well buy a 16.

He can get the IC stuff for $200, or the whole truck?
