What goes on top of the dash??
Ok,
my front dash piece. The thing w the fake wood grain. The top of it is covered in what I suspect is an adhesive residue. What went there between the screws? Is it soft foam for sealing or was it stouter?

I've owned five first gens and currently have at least a half dozen dash bezels. I don't recall anything glued to the top of it.
There should be little foam rubber strips at the top and bottom of the A/C vents to keep them from moving around but that's it.

Mine came out pretty easy=patience and plenty of time. One item the factory service manual didn't show is a fourth (or Fifth) heater box nut down behind the exhaust neck below the turbo towards the center of the cab,,,make sure you look for this if the newer dash 98 model....
