What do you think she might be worth??
Unfortunately, I might have to get rid of the old 1st gen. I have another kid on the way and a regular cab isn't too comfortable with 2 kids and the wife. I am coming into a little cash at the beginning of next year, so a '96-'98 12v looks like it might be an option, but not without selling mine first. Here is what I have:
1989 W250LE 4x4 reg cab
140,500 miles
stock drivetrain (D60F, D70R, NP 205)
New within the last 2500 miles
- rebuilt Getrag
- new brakes (complete brake job)
- new shocks
- new tires
- new windshield
- new bed (from a rust free 93 gasser)
- all body panels that were rusty have been replaced.
- new paint job (done by me, looks average)
- new 5" mitre cut exhaust kit
- 3200 spring
- new Isspro pyro and boost gauges
- new undercoating on undercarriage
- line-x bed coating
- new interior carpet
- just soundproofed entire inside of cab
- new clearance lights
Issues:
- interior dome light doesn't work
- passenger side cab mount looks like it might need to be replaced
- electric door lock on drivers side doesn't work, but does on passenger side (same switch too huh? )
- body has a couple of small dents, but nothing really noticeable (you can see my pictures)
I run all synthetic fluids in her and only do mostly highway driving. I am averaging about 22mpg combined. Truck runs flawless and the more I write the more teary eyed I get . This would not even be a consideration as I have invested A LOT of time and money into her, but family comes first (ya'll can understand that I'm sure) Either way, I am still going to stick with a 12v Cummins though!
On a side note, I apologize if this appears as an advertisement, it is not. I will be holding onto this truck until the beginning of next year, and then I will display it in the classified section. This thread is merely to get an accurate gauge for what you experts might think she is worth!
Thanks

My guess, by just buying my 89' auto 1 year ago. I would say $5,500-$6,000. I paid $4,200 for mine, but its auto and 233,000, slight rust spots here and there. Nice truck you have though. Lucky dog that grabbs that up.

i got $6500 for a 92 auto 2wd just about a month ago... fully stock with a rusty hood. other than that it was spotless... i say start high. people seem to get mad on here when people ask a lot, but i say get what you can. start at $7500 or $8000.... more if you want. the worst that would happen is that no one would buy it! since you have till the first of the year i say the skys the limit on the asking price. people seem to be willing to pay astronomical prices for a clean 4x4 5 speed. i agree that you can find them cheaper, but not everyone wants to look! and take your time looking, maybe if you are REALLY lucky you will find a 4x4, 5-speed, 98 12v with a 4 door cab!

Your old truck looks pretty good for an 89, A nice set of wheels sure would make her look better, and 89 macthing chrome flairs on the bed insted of the 93 ruber ones. I would ask $7500.00 140,000 and some change is not alot of miles for the age of the truck. Mine is a 91 and had 245,0000 miles on it win I bought it 6 years go, I payed $5500.00 then I ran the on truck to over 400.000 miles before I over hauled. When u go to look for 2nd gens, check out the mid to late 96 's some of them too came out with the 215 horse engine they had the 887 pumps on them. The 97 and 98 12v still has a better pump the 913. Just check the cpl on the 96 model for 215 hp.
