What are the chances?(grudge match)

Just a little history on the matter. It all started sophomore year in High School.
So as childhood rivalrys evolve things tend to get out of hand.
I've always been one to buy just about everything i have ever had.
An old friend has just about had everything he has ever wanted handed to him or given to him with a little begging.
I pulled my first truck from the woods (85D100) and worked all summer to pay for parts to make it road worthy and have fun at the same time.
After seeing my truck a week later(after begging grand daddy) he shows up with a skyjacked 1500 chevy.
My truck blew up from radiator/waterpump going bad and i ended up getting a Ramcharger a week later, did everything to it my self, made his truck look stupid off-road. Even the big bad 350 couldn't bog its way through the mud hole.
Two weeks later he ends up with a f350 460 shootin flames(blew a head gasket and hydro locked 350motor).
My truck served its purpose and i needed a work truck and better than 12 mpg again and ended up with a 96ram, almost everything i wanted, but all i could afford.
Not even a day went by before a mysterious blacked out 96 superduty pulls up next to me whistling and throwing smoke.
So I'm up to no good the other day and decided to head back to the old stomping grounds. Catch up on old times and see what everyone is driving(thats all i really cared about ). Wouldn't this edit be sitting there with an 06' 2500 CTD..... Looking down at me from his lifted truck and said something along the lines of what took you soo long. Pulled out a $100 said he bet he could smoke my hoopty.

I'm surprised and a little insulted, but since he was the only one there i told him we'd do this another time and decided to leave. Knowing he spent more money on a lift, wheels n' tires and a 4" pipe or "muffler/cat delete" Possibly a cold air intake. Given the basic pump mods i have in my sig., how would you say i stand up to one of the last 5.9 24valve cummins?

P.S. Just got a he351 in the mail. Looking to clean and inspect, then possibly rebuild and make work on my truck non/ic.

I think you would lose. IMO, you need more mods to keep up with a stock 3rd gen.

You'll beat him..

Your mid 15's right now in the 1/4

He's maybe mid 16's...lift/tires makes it slower..you really need full specs on the truck.

just for the race...crank the power screw up ...then turn it back down after the race.

In holding the 22lb turbo, and comparing it to mine, its nearly double the size. Or atleast looks that way.

That was my personal thought, if it sounded like crap and coughed smoke rings out the exhaust at idle i might stand a chance. (like one pulling truck i saw sled was movin so fast it hit the back of the guys truck when he stopped.)

If it's anything like mine, what you need most is traction.

remember guys his 2wd first gen will be a LOT lighter than a 4wd third gen. That said, I think traction might play a factor.

If the He351 checks out slap 'er on (maybe intercool it at the same time, and a 4" dp too), boost, pyro (if you don't already have 'em) and then converter and transgo kit. Bottom that fuel screw to just before runaway and go back and make his face red. Maybe a M&H or DennyT just for good measure.

You really need a soft rubber, and let some air out.

I have a set or real old tires on the back of mine. Bet they are 10-12 years old and still have good tread. Trouble is, old rubber gets hard.

They ignite almost instantly, like your on ice.
