What is this?
Was under my truck running trailer brake wires, and on the back of my Getrag (drivers side) i see a small solenoid looking unit on the back of the tranny with a few wires coming from it, and what looks like either a grease zerk or a bleeder. What is this?

I don't think so, I noticed that yours is a 91, is it intercooled or no? I think that the older non intercooled still had a mechanical speedo. So we may not be talking about the same thing.
When they went to the newer model they put a electric sensor in the place of where the cable would have gone.

Mines a '92 but the part your describing sounds just like the "L" adapter that the speed sensor screws into and yes it's a grease zerk. Be easy if you put grease in the thing as it shouldn't take a lot.

On a 91 non- intercooled that IS the speedo sending unit....and if you "over grease" it, you will break the wafer-thin nut that holds it together( dont ask how I know...)
