Whad'ya reckon?

I hope this isn't out of place in the 1st Gen forum.

You good folks have seen me grow from a stock truck to that shown in my Sig. 33" tires, 3.5x gearing, 5' ladder bars, . . . . .These forums have been the pillar of my learn'in.

I'm gonna take it down to the Coastal Plains Drag-way (Link) and put it through it's moves. I have never put my heap on a dyno or the drag-way. I'm totally clueless.

What do you suppose I'll run assuming I don't red-light every pass or just plain 'splode it?

I'm as nervous as a prostitute in church!

From the little bit of playing I've done thus far, it's clear I'll have to launch in 4WD as with building any boost will spin the tires initially. I think the track is 1/8th mile.

Closest to what I run gets an Atta'boy!

I don't know, but I am curious as to why you list your truck as a 93.5 ? I didn't think there were any major changes in the 93' model year to warrant a 1/2 year designation?

You know? . . . . . that's a good question.

I made the Sig a while back and clearly I thought there was a difference. I'm stumped!

On an 1/8 mile track I would say you should be around 11 sec give or take 1.

When I ran mine I was launching in 4 wheel drive, around 10psi. I don't know if A518 input shafts are stronger than 47RH ones, but I was too chicken to try it any higher than 10psi. I want billet shafts now.

Yeah, 10psig is what I'm thinking for now. I have to practice BIG-TIME as I'm having a fit trying to keep the boost at 10psig. It wants to jump much higher as the turbo spools. Got to hold the brakes HARD.

The 518 shafts are solid unlike the later models. I'm ignorant of the 47RH.

Sound like it time for some traffic light practice!!

Hmm whats the altitude there?

I'm rooting for a 9.98 1/8 mile.

weather you red light or not, it will not change your et. If you set at the light for 3 sec it would not affect your et!

when you brake the staging beams, is when the clock starts!

Good luck and have fun! that's what it's all about!

I did all my practicing at the track, we have a track up here you can run as many times as you want all night usually friday night, just get in line. And don't forget to take all the stuff out of the bed, some places don't like it and it'll lighten the truck up some.

Mine was doing low 10's around 68-69 mph in the 1/8 before I put the piston lift pump on.
Now I reckon you get on out to the track and run it.

The best time I got in the 1/8 was 9.7sec at 70mph. That was before the water/meth, bhaf, and before I turned up the pump. I would hold it at 5psi before launch. Don’t think the staging guy liked me too much because I would always leave him sitting in a black cloud . I am going to a 1/4-mile track next week with a set of 33" tires and 4.10's. Will see what happens but hopefully I can make it into the 14's.

Frankly I'm not expecting any surprises as I'm still running the OEM torque converter.

I'll be happy if I don't redlight or watch the other guy drive off.

. . . . . . . or have to get towed home.
