I had a custom 6 pin planetary built and did everything NJTman listed.

My tranny is SOLID!!!!

If your fluid is brown and doesn't smell like atf, I'm thinking a good flush and fluid change is all you need.

Fix the simple stuff first and get worried as the more $$$ stuff creeps up

well I am going to take it to the shop that did the rebiuld on it tomarrow I will post what they find out hopefully its something simple and cheep because they said the warranty dosent roll over to a new buyer

All good advice here and nothing I can add that already has not been covered. Best 1st Gen site I know of.

Why don't you hedge your bets on this truck and take the offer I made you on it and bank the extra 2 grand profit you would make! No more tranny worries!

no no no this beast is worth more than 6 and when I get the other 93 from you I wont have anymore worries btw looks like I will be tring to come down to work in your area so I can get the 65 ford on that frame then I will have two better than your 5 hehe

well found out what it was. the transmission shop didnt rebiuld it right and had pressure to low and burnt up high gear's and they won't fix. so I'm now having someone else biuld it better..

he said cause I didnt have the tranny rebiult. the guy I bought it from did. I bought it like that though. the guy is real shady!! he just wanted me to pay him again, the wrecker guy told me he herd the tranny guy say that he was going to make double $$ off it thats why I had it picked up and took to a good tranny guy

by the way the first guy was springtown transmission and repair so do not use if you are in TX
