VE Pump Question

On the VE pump, just under the high idle screw there is lever that is spring loaded, but not connected to anything externally. If I move it while the engine is running the engine dies.

What the heck is this thing?

Thanks!

Mark

That would be your manual shut off lever. It does exactly what you posted.

It would of only been ignorant if you wouldnt of asked. Thats why all of us guys are here....to help each other out! I know I didnt know what it was until I did the exact same thing you did. When in doubt, ask.

Yeah, don't let Cody poke around under your hood after you do some modifications...he'll have the shut-off solenoid off and scare you half to death!

Then why am I such a wimp to try to change the high idle spring to a 3200? I've changed the turbo, turned up the pump but I'm a chicken when it comes to going inside the pump to my only ride that I have. Screwing something up when I venture into the unknown is almost a phobia of mine.
