valve setting

I just got my headstuds installed and was setting the valves. Following the FSM. I set everything on #1 tdc first. Turned over to #6 tdc and had #3 exhaust valve with the tappet about 1/8in from the valve stem. I turned it over to #1 again and #4 exhaust was the same way. I reset the valves and turned it over. But it was the same thing. It runs but has a miss. And I know something in the valves is not right. Thanks in advance.

Took the rocker arms back off those 2 cylinders and everything looks good. I forgot to mention when I put #3 rocker arm back on I had to back the exhaust off about 2 turns to get it to spec. It just acts like those 2 should be adjusted oposite. I might try setting each individual cylinder on TDC and adjust them that way.

that's the long way to do it, but at least you'd know for certain they're adjusted correctly. just be sure you know the firing order
