Value Of A 92 D-350

I am going to an auction that has a 92 2WD extended cab dually, 5-speed, inter-cooled Cummins.

The engine lit right off at a touch of the key.

The transmission shifts easily and seems okay.

178,000 showing on the odometer.

A/C clutch did not engage-could just be low on gas or could need lots of dollars spent on it.

Well used gooseneck plate in the bed and receiver hitch behind.

One outside-rear wheel has a bad distortion, metal torn and bent but still holding tubeless.

Tires about 2/3.

Red clay dust inches deep in the cab and under the hood and all over everything.

No visible body damage.

All glass good.

Tailgate about to fall off; but, I think this is common for these trucks.

Both doors show evidence of a sign of some kind being on them for a long time.

I intend to try to buy the truck if it doesn't get too crazy.

What can I expect it to bring, considering this is very rural area??

Thanks.

well I'd guess 3000 - 5000

although there was talk about another 1st gen at auction going for 15000 + at auction so who knows. lighting right off is a given with these ve driven cummins... I'd say that truck was WORKED HARD

I wouldn't want to pay much more than $3k for it at an auction. Sounds like it will take some $$$ and elbow grease to get it presentable.

I guess an update is in order.

I went to the sale with $4000 in mind as a top price.

I set it in at $1000 and was next to last bidder at $4100.

Some ancient old gentleman got it for $4200.

I thought I would let him soak a while and see if he was about to throw-up, like maybe he was wishing he had stayed at home; then, I offered him a hundred to put my name on his bid. That would have been a total of $4300.

He said no and not for a thousand either; he said he had intended to go to $5000, and maybe a bit more if it took it.

This is missed 1st Gen. number two that I have been close to owning.

I might make a career out of this.

For $5k let him have it. It doesn't sound to me like it was worth that much.
