Found the problem.

When I followed the sticky to "repair a leaky fuel pin" I found out that whomever took the pump apart before me left out the "sealing ring, the protective cap and the retainer"

The protective cap must have been left out for a reason on my pump as it was crushed against the bushing and pinched against the fuel pin locking it into place, wide open!!!!!

I managed to dig the very fine material of the protective cap out of the threads for the retainer and put it back together.

Now appears to work the way it's supposed to.

See my latest thread for the next in the series of "I'm just going to keep breaking down on you forever until you collapse of a stroke truck"

i had the same thing happen to me although I was cruising down the highway at the time. Turned out that my VE grenaded internally. Had it rebuilt at GCL Fuel Systems in Calgary. Runs like a scalded cat now! plus I have a nifty bag of busted parts that they replaced! Might I suggest getting a 32k spring installed while you're at it! I did, the difference is amazing! With the help of POD300 injectors the truck now does 125kph in 3rd and 180kph WOT in OD....

Pulled the pump right out of the truck and used some paint remover and found this info.

NO infinity symbol anywhere.

I phone the local Dodge dealer and he told me the recall ended years ago.

Do I still get to have this pump recalled or am I out of luck?????

I bought a 95 Range Rover several years ago that Had a leaky fuel tank. I found out that it had been recalled years ago and mine had never been fixed. They not only replaced the tank, but they gave me a free rental car taboot. I do not think that safety recalls ever expire. They are probably hoping that you go away. I would stay on them, move up the ladder until you find somebody, with power, that really does not want to talk to you. Run the vin through the federal recall site, I'll see if I can find it, print it out and put it on theier desk. If it is anything in Canada like it is here, you will get a new Pump. Mark

I think safty recalls are forever. If your truck is included in it, I don't see how they can not do it.

I ran my trucks VIN through the recall list and nothing came up.

I wondering if the original pump was warrantied and this is a third pump put on by the original owner????

This thing looks and stinks of OEM.

Nothing came up.

It said if your model wasn't listed there is no recall for it.

Interesting, when you use the drop down, nothing comes up, but when you put the number that Richie o provided, it comes up. The good news is that there is a recall and they HAVE to honor it...Mark
