tweaked the pump

rotated the fuel pin to the front and cranked the star wheel almost all the way out, you turn it counter clock wise right???? truck runs great, probably gonna grind the fuel pin next week if i got time, what would cause rusty looking build up on the fuel pin?? man they put some serious lock tight on those 4 bolts from the factory.

You will want to reduce the spring load by rotating it clockwise in...grind the pin-you will enjoy it, and dont forget to turn the full fuel screw in for a little more fun! Not sure what the red goo is, but it seems that alot of us have it...maybe the factory lube for the pin???

Yeah, your going to want to run the star wheel clockwise to loosen the spring tension to get your "full fueling" faster. I set mine on the bottom n left it. I never had EGT issues with it like that, even towing.
I didnt have any kind of grease on my pin or locktite for that matter. Except for the smoke screw. But metal on metal contact in the afc housing on the pin is a good idea to have a lil grease.

Yeah the idle screw is a pain. The best 2 ways to get it loose is pulling the IP toward the fender for better access at the lock nut, loosin'n it then returning the IP to its location, then adjusting it. The second is with a chisel n hammer to tap the lock nut loose.
Gotta love hand tool power modifications!

If you can find one for cheap,(doubt it), theres a tool that makes this the easiest nut to get to. My bro, a mechanic, has it. Its just a 10mm socket, short wobble joint, and 8" extension all in one. Slide it one and its easy as could be. Though its a Mac or Snapon, so it was prolly about $60-80.
