Angry TV cable update

I should have kept my mouth shut. I should have known better than to say anything until I had the cable in my hand. Now I'm angry and embarassed. I actually thought I had some good news, I'm sorry guys. The parts section at the dealership was open today and I went down there to order some other parts and there was a different parts guy there and I had him double check on the cable, well I think you know the rest. He did tell me he was going to try and get me one, from where I don't know.

Mike,

Try California Push-Pull Cable. Their website is www.push-pull.com. I just received their catalog and they will build any cable to your specs. They will fabricate your specs or drawing or copy an original that you send them. Good luck.

Aloha,
Matt

If the outer sheath is still good you may be able to replace the inner cable. I went thru the same BS with the throttle cable. I bought one for a Dodge motor home at Napa, it was plenty long and had the same size inner cable and then bought an adjustable collet and ball end connect from Control Cable. My old cable had snapped off, so I just pulled it out and fed the new thru the old sheath, connected all and back in business. More adjustable for maximum throttle travel too, and cheaper.

I think so, I was able to use my stock 727 cable with the 47rh that I had swapped in.

Might there be a way to adapt a 94+ cable? The linkage at the trans end SHOULD be the same, just have ti figger out the mounting up by the IP. Or how about maybe a cable for a gasser? I`m sure there is some way to "make" something work.

if they have them, they aint selling them. current mopar inventory (6-15-07) shows no stock available and 3 on backorder. there are 26 dealers showing them in inventory. get your dealer to special handle one and mopar will pick it up from one of the dealers who have it on the shelf.

I got my TV cable yesterday. Part# 53009056, total cost $98.91. I'm really suprised how some dealers can get the cable and others say there aren't any at all. I think that the parts guy has a lot to do with it. I know they can look up other dealers do a search and see their inventory... if they were willing. The guy that was able to get mine was vague as to where it came from.

make no mistake about it. mopar currently has none available. we all have the choice of ordering the part from one of the dealers who still have it in stock. the price you paid is slightly inflated, no doubt to cover the expense of picking it up from another dealer (usually 10-15%). if it was special handled, mopar will do it for the dealer but still charge the 15%. either way, you got the part.

when mopar gets enough backorders, they will decide wether to commision another run of parts to cover the backorders or to discontinue the part (ns1). based on an aveerage weekly demand of 6 units, it probably wont discontinue.

QIK2D you are wrong' I checked 12 dealers over the last 8 Mo. I furnished them with the part no. They all told me there were none even in the dealer network. On May the 20th the dealer in Woodward Ok. told me there were 400 supose to ship from a manufacture June 8th, I thought Yea Right !!!!
Johnson Dodge in Enid was handy for me so I called them they also said June 8th. I told them to get me one. They had it on the 10th. The National back order was filled!! There was a date stamped on the label 6/6/07 Made in Mexico. Oh mine cost 69.99. Any One want me to get them one? Johnston in Enid Ok. said there warehouse had enough to go around.
