turbo upgrade suggestions

I have a 93 d350 5 speed, rock stock.

What Ive done: bhaf
rotated fuel pin for most fuel
trimmed plastic spacer under fuel pin
turned star wheel cw 1.5 turns
turned screw on top of pump(under that cap) cw 2 turns.

What im getting ready to do:

Bought diamond eye 4" w/muffler

What I want to do:

replace inj.pump with a new ve inj. pump (ive already horse traded for it,new in bag)
replace diaphram lift pump with piston style(maybe)I have another new diaphram style unit I could just use(opinions on wich to use would be helpfull)
increase Timeing on ve pump
crank in power screw on ve pump(the one with the tacked on metal cap)
So back to the question.Im not looking at making gobbs of power, just want a lil more and am concerned about egt's(Its really hot where I live) The rig will be mostly used to pull a 26' inclosed trailer with a 4x4 in back and camping gear (its a poor mans toy hauler)

Ive read somthing about changing the cold air side housing to lower egt's and asuming the smaller i.d. housings the 16cm ,18cm etc are the hot side modifications?

Could y all steer me in the right direction...that isnt a buut load of $$ and just use the stock turbo with a rebuild kit....or am I way off on this? and just need to swap the whole **** thing out?

Thanks....cummins newb.

It would be best to just upgrade the compressor wheel to 60 mm and a 12 or 14 cm exhaust housing. That should be more than enough for what you are doing.

considering what it would cost for both of those, you'd be better off buying an he351cw and throwing it on there with the diamond eye exhaust. It would probably cool better, give faster spool up and should be cheaper. You'll need to buy one of the he351 flanges off ebay though, I think it's about $45.

This flange, does this take it back down to the 3" exhaust.I just did some reading on the he351cw.The fact that it has a 4" exhaust will kinda hose me I just got the diamond eye 4 " system it has the stock 3" for the stock turbo. Can a guy just buy the 4" end piece and have it tigged onto my D.E. system?

I say HE351cw too, You'll love it! I loved mine, spools quick, cools well, and lots of boost, and you can pick them up fairly cheap. I'd say just try and find a used 3rd gen downpipe too and cut the 4" flange off and weld it on to the 4" downpipe you'll have and then just clamp it on.
