Question TURBO Differences

My 1991 turbo has a smaller compressor side than a HC1 on an intercooled 1993. Im wondering what will happen if i install that turbo. Plus my 91 turbo has BC1 casted into the housing sooooo..... I thought my truck had an HC1. any input is greatly appriciated!!!!!!!!!

Not a lot. EGT will go down just a little.

You will need an adapter boot.

What's the big difference, just more air or boost. Just curious!

Soo that must mean even though there would be more air but less boost and since im not intercooled what would you guess less or more or the same power but lower egt's. plus the install of a BHAF!!!!!!!!!

You can also just cut the flange off of the IC H1C. I have done it on a conversion and it worked fine.

cooler air = more power ,it will lower EGTs some . but you need to check if you have the 18cm or 21 cm ex housing 21 will hurt bottom end spool up(makes it a pig) 18 not to bad .

I wouldn't recommend going to the '93 housing and wheel. It doesn't have a MWE slot and you will get compressor surging on low-mid rpm high fuel situations. The flutter was horrendous for me with this setup and a non/ic crossover pipe, even with the 3" custom intake crossover!

It's cast into the side of the housing facing the firewall. If you're young and flexible you can climb up there and see it with a flashlight. Old guys will have to resort to mirrors and other trickery.

The stock 50 wheel "baby" h1c works perfectly for that low volume intake we have... I did end up going with an hx35 with MWE and it works great! loud too!
