Turbo Decision. Need help asap

I have a few hours on eBay to decide whether to go to a hx35 or hx40 turbo, both good prices. Which would work the best for my set up? Or is there any other turbos you would recommend.

I would say go with the 40 if there around the same price. From what I've read they can take quite a bit of upgrades. But on the other hand there are a few guys running the 35 with some decent mods also. Take a look at the sigs when reading through threads to see what others have. Thats just my two cents tho, and no matter what one you get if you don't like it you could post it in the forum classifieds for sale and I'm sure you be able to get your money back out of it.

hx 40

I have been talking with Wanna about the hx-40. Thats the one I am going with. I noticed in your sig you only have 28psi of boost and your pump is turned up pritty good. I can peg my 30psi gauge and my pump is not near as tuned up as yours. Just caught my eye. What zise exhaust housing is on the hx-40, The ones on e-bay I saw didnt say.

sorry i forgot to change my sig, since i reworked the pump. I only have to have it 2 1/2 turns on the screw now to hit 28lbs of boost. I'm basically maxing this small turbo out and just want something that isn't going to heat up on me real hot, but i don't want something that is too big for my engine either.

Dean if you look at my sig I have my pump pretty much maxed out and I am seeing 36lbs of boost but my egt's will go well over 1600 with no problem at all. I am going to upgrade my turbo to the Gillett Stage III as soon as my wife sells her car. I was told by a couple of people here that it will help my egts quite a bit. Plus its only around $180 as compared to the HTT for $250. You might be better off going with just a compressor upgrade for now or unless you are going to max the pump and go with larger injectors in the near future.
