My big project keeps getting bigger

The turbo on the truck is pumping oil out the compressor side and this seems like a good time for an upgrade. I have an HX35 that also needs a rebuild off a 96 but don't really know what I need. If that wouldn't be a good turbo now is likely a good time for the right one. Also planning on using a DE exhaust if possible.

The truck will be a 6 speed and I also have a PS intercooler that will go in as it gets put back together. I plan to use it for towing heavier than I should and general driving. I will also end up with larger injectors at some point not right away as I'm running out of money for this truck at the moment and just want it back up and running before fixing stuff that's not broken.

I don't know turbos very well and don't want to make a bad choice.

 

HE351CW is the best bet for an economical upgrade with the best results. They can be found on 04.5-07 dodge cummins trucks.

They do require some fab/mods to fit but its pretty minor.

I've been looking at the HE351CW s and they are a little out of my price range right now. I can afford the rebuild kit for the HX35 or the H1C right now and do the HE351CW down the road out of those two the HX35 would probably be better right.

 

yes hx35 is better than the h1c.
