Truck mechanic in So Cal

Wow. Just found this site. What a wonderful resource. I have a 92 250 4WD with 173,000 miles and I sometimes carry a camper that weighs about 4000 pounds. My truck has started running a little warm so I wanted to put in some gauges to see whats going on. I also want to up the power a little and put in a beefed up transmission. Can anyone tell me of a good place in southern california that can work on my truck. I live half way between Los Angeles and San Diego and it sure would be nice if there was someplace close that worked on dodge diesels. Right now I would be happy with someplace that could just install some gauges.

Thanks
Garren

I'm not too sure about a mechanic down there but as far as gauges go there really not that hard to install. If you want to put a tach in you already have the plugin under the dash and as for the boost you really only have to run a line to the side of the engine and get a fitting. You will have to decide where you want to mount the pyro and you'll have to drill for that one but other than that very simple. The transmission i would definitely take that to a shop to have worked on. Look at gauges at http://www.piersdiesel.com/.

Get the gauges first!!! Pyro, Tranny and Boost. And DON'T do like I did with the pyro and put the probe post turbo. (That gets moved this weekend to PRE turbo) After that you can start looking for someone to do what ever other work you want. If you don't know what you want to do first, heck, email Piers telling them what you have and what you want. They'll give you suggestions.
