TRANSMISSIONS....more than meets the eye!!

I need advice in regards to my tranny in my 91.5 intercooled Dodge.I use the truck for general construction and I also haul a 16000 pound CAT.A friend,we'll call him Josh/horse,installed the 3600 spring in the pump, ground the power pin,and bumped the timing. My tranny,727 based overdrive, was weak when I got the truck. Now it's almost dead.I'm trying to keep costs low,but not be a total cheap ***.

Anyone know of a good company that sells good convertors for a reasonable price?

What is the technical name of the tranny I have?

thanks

Wedge, you'll be able to get a better response if you'll fill out your signature with your trucks info, mods done and such.. it sounds like you probably ahv ethe A518 tranny, but I am sure one of the guys who knows more than me will chime in here and verify that or correct it!

yup, 518. It needs a rebuild. Throwing a converter at it will only finish the job on the trans and then you will need another converter. When you do rebuild it, throw as big of a cooler on it as you can fit. I have a 10x16 plate cooler under the bed with a big electric fan on it.
