Transmission Replacement Help

My 46RH in my 93 D250 has finally decided it will no longer go into OD. The local shop had checked it out and it is not electrical, so it needs rebuilt.

I found one out of a 94 2500 for sale locally for 1/4 the cost of rebuilding mine. It was rebuilt 70,000 miles ago, upgraded internally with 48RE parts to be heavier duty. It comes with the lock up torque converter.

Will a transmission out of a 94 work in my 93?
Is it worth it with 70,000 miles on it?

I can't afford to dump a lot of money into this truck. I would appreciate anyone's opinion.

Thanks

Yes, it can be installed in your 93. Quick, grab it.

Trans would be a good swap, but stock 48re parts are not heavy duty. They suck too...just like every other stock Dodge auto, they need to be upgraded to handle horses.

It would be just under $500.

What would it take to wire up the lock up converter in my 93?

Thanks

It is not a direct swap for your truck. You will also need a second gen engine adapter plate a second gen starter and you might have to have the drive shaft shortened. Then you can just wire up a toggle switch to put it in lock up.
