transmission hosed

My 92 W-250 just lost all gears except 4th. It is the Getrag 360 5 speed. I am assuming it's hosed. Any suggestions on replacement? Should I stick with the getrag or look for something better?

I'd rebuild the Getrag.

Is the nv4500 a better option. Found one on ebay for less than $1100.00 with a one year warranty. Will I have to get any kind of adapter kit? I have not ever attempted a tranny.

I occasionally pull skid loaders and a dump trailer. Can the getrag handle it?

Sounds like something happened to you're counter shaft, or stripped the gears off the input shaft, that drive the counter shaft. Either way for parts you're probably looking at around $500, including all new bearings and syncros. Which is a lot cheaper than swapping in another tranny.

I have the 93 factory service manual from my old 93. Would that suffice for the 92?

Its better because a 92 FSM doesn't include the section on rebuilding the trans.

Southbend makes good clutches.

A Con-O would be fine for around 300-350Hp with no pulling.

Southbend can even get you a genuine 13" factory Sach's clutch (good clutch) . this is what would of came stock.
