transmission cooler... factory??

The transmission cooler that is mounted on the d.s under the box, it has a 12v fan hooked to it, is that factory? Or after market? How does it work, how can I test it to make sure it is working. Thanks.

They were an option. They are temperature controlled.

pull the 2 leads off the thermal sensor and short across the leads with a piece of wire. The fan tuns on immediately. If not, check each of the leads to ground with a voltmeter to make sure one of them is hot.
